International phone manufacturers are increasingly turning to India to build their smartphones. A few weeks ago, Apple announced its decision to move its smartphone maker from China to India. This time Samsung informed that they are moving from Vietnam to India to set up their factory.
According to a news source, Samsung is going to sign an agreement with India to make a phone worth 40 billion (Rs 3 lakh crore) . They want to bring it to India through a new project. It is also learned that Samsung wants to shift a large part of their smartphone manufacturing from Vietnam to India and a few other countries.
Samsung has already set up its largest smartphone manufacturing plant in Noida, India (it is the largest smartphone manufacturing plant in the world). From where the mobile they built spread all over the world. But most of the smartphones that will be made through Samsung's new project will be exported to foreign countries. And as a result, the price of Samsung smartphones in India is likely to come down a bit.
Until 2018, Samsung was known as the number one smartphone brand in India. Then Samsung lost their number one position as some Chinese brands took over the Indian market. But earlier this year, due to the anti-India and anti-China sentiment, some customers started opposing China products and they started ignoring Chinese smartphones. As a result, the South Korean company ranks second as the best smartphone brand. According to news sources, through this big project, they can regain the number one position in India.
After China, most smartphones are exported from Vietnam to different countries in the world. About 50% of Samsung's phones are exported from Vietnam to other countries. And a large part of it is in Indonesia and Basel. But now a large part of it is coming to India. And it turns out that most of the phones in this construction will be exported out.
